TCS end hybrid working policy: The country’s largest IT company, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), is ending its hybrid working policy.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), the largest IT company in the nation, is getting ready to abandon its hybrid working philosophy. The corporation has instructed its employees to report to work five days a week starting on October 1 in an internal email. Currently, employees are only required to work three days a week in the office. TCS had requested that its staff return to work for five days starting on October 1 in an official communication delivered in mid-September.

The message reads, “As informed by the CEO and Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) in several townhalls, 5 days per week on all working days (if there are no holidays) with effect from 1 October 2023 for all It is mandatory to be present in the office on (day).”

What was stated in the company’s FY23 annual report

To yet, the business has not responded to CNBCTV18’s email inquiry about this issue. In addition, the corporation had underlined the value of going back to work in its FY23 annual report. After March 2020, more than half of the company’s employees were hired. By physically interacting with senior coworkers and executives, new employees can learn from their behavior and methods of thinking.

According to the company’s FY23 annual report, “without those conversations, employee engagement as well as acculturation suffered.” Over the course of the year, we gradually started to welcome individuals back to our offices as a result of all these causes.

More than six lakh people work in the workforce

It’s interesting to see that TCS reserves more than half of their revenue to cover its payroll costs. The business spent 56.6 percent of its revenue on employee benefits in FY23. The largest private employer in the nation employed over six lakh employees as of the end of March 2023. Therefore, a big number of people can now daily commute to work thanks to this action.

The 2525 model was mentioned by Rajesh Gopinathan, who was the CEO of TCS at the time, earlier in May 2020 during the first Covid wave. By 2025, the corporation had hoped to return 25% of its staff to the office under that program.
